2010 China(Shenzhen) International Finance Exposition

Shenzhen, China’s first Special Economic Zone, which was personally advocated to set up by Mr. Deng Xiaoping, has been developed from a small fishing village into a modern metropolitan in a short period of 30 years. It ranks the nation’s number one in GDP per capita, creating a miracle in urbanization, industrialization and modernization in the world, and thus becoming a pioneer in reform and openness in China. Facing with the complicated domestic and international situations in 2009, Shenzhen’s economy still has kept the momentum as a leader in the country. The finance industry, as one of the four pillar industries in Shenzhen, has endured the ordeal of the international financial crisis; in 2009, its increasing rate of the added value in finance industry surpassed 20%, occupying about 14% of GDP, effectively having maintained the stability of Shenzhen’s financial market and having played a significant role in realizing the steady and fast development. In September 2009, Shenzhen was ranked the world’s number 5 in the world in the sixth issue’s global financial center index in Financial City of London, becoming a financial center ranking ahead of other domestic cities, which has embodied the recognition as a standout from the international finance industry.


Year 2010 is the year of further implication of The Reform and Development Program Compendium for Pearl River Delta Region and The General Scheme of Shenzhen City’s Comprehensive Reform, as well as the last year of the 11th five-year plan; during the year, Shenzhen city will start in all-round the construction of the comprehensive test zone in financial reform and innovation. In front of this historical opportunity, Shenzhen will carry forward the special-zone vitality of emancipating the mind to generate active innovation, to propel the development of finance industry up to a new stage with more flexible system and more open policy in order to supply sufficient capital power for the economic recovery and consolidation in Pearl River Delta and even the whole country.

China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exposition, jointly hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China Chamber of International Commerce, Shenzhen Municipal Government, Bank of China and China Merchants Bank and successfully held for three sessions since 2007, is the most influential grand meeting for finance industry in China. The third China (Shenzhen) International Finance Exposition had an exhibition area of over 30,000m2, with over 500 domestic and overseas financial institutions, several thousands of enterprises and over 150,000 visitors, ranking number one in the scale, the degree of internationalization and social impact.
